How do I maintain a saxophone?
Keeping your saxophone in top form means regular, light maintenance. Check the pads for signs of wear, make sure all screws are snug (but not overtightened), and oil the keywork occasionally with specialist key oil.
When in doubt, always store your sax properly in its case, with neck removed, reed off, and swabbed dry.
Our collaboration with Yamaha Music UK ensures these maintenance steps align with the highest standards of instrument care, supporting educators and technicians across the country.
