The pBone Music team are delighted to announce a new collaboration: with TiME, the music tech experts and advocates of accessible instruments in the classroom.
Together, we will bring innovative, sustainable, and accessible music education into classrooms across the UK.
Innovation in the Music Industry
TiME shares our passion for giving all children access to the joys of creating music and learning to play an instrument. Led by directors Richard Llewellyn and Kate Rounding and supported by expert voices from across the music industry and education, TiME provides resources, hosts events, encourages innovation and raises awareness of the benefits of technology in music.
"Working together with TiME feels like a very natural fit," says Jonty Hines, Director of Education Partnerships at pBone Music. “Our goal has always been to create instruments that are not only accessible and fun but also sustainable, and TiME share our passion for getting all children playing music."
Events for Accessible Instruments and Technology
The Music Hub Conference 2024 in June at Yamaha Music UK HQ included a day dedicated to accessible instruments and digital solutions. As we expand our instrument offering to music hubs in England and the United Kingdom, we are keen to ensure that educators receive the best advice, resources and instruments to deliver lessons for all children.
Day two of the conference emphasised the role of music technology in enhancing access, inclusion, and creativity for students of all abilities. This is a passion shared by both pBone Music and TiME. Alongside our range of accessible instruments, pBone Music is developing new adaptive music technologies, including custom stands, to support diverse learning needs.
“The feedback from the attendees of the Music Hub Conference has been so positive,” says Jonty. “Our work with TiME will continue to give our partners hands-on access to the latest products and supporting resources. Speaking to manufacturers like ourselves and the other great companies working with TiME gives hubs a direct line to make positive changes to learning. We are thrilled to be partnering with a host of other companies who all want the same thing: better accessibility and more kids playing music!”
Sustainable and Accessible Music Education
Our partnership with TiME also allows us to share our expertise as instrument manufacturers who specialise in creating carbon-neutral products. By crafting instruments like pBuzz and pBone from recyclable ABS plastic, pBone Music provides an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional brass instruments. As we work with other manufacturers to deliver instruments for the classroom, we are providing advice on their products to raise standards across the music industry.
“Partnering with TiME allows us to further our mission of supporting music education in a way that respects our environment,” says Jonty.

With another Music Hub conference planned for the future and other events in the pipeline, pBone Music and TiME will continue to support educators looking for new solutions for schools.
