Teaching Basic Music Skills with pBuzz
The innovative pBuzz elementary instrument makes learning the basics of music so much fun for young learners! The bright red, lightweight and easy-to-learn pBuzz offers a truly authentic musical instrument experience. New players learn how to make a tone, use air and understand and create musical notes.
The pBuzz is the perfect way to give any child a taste of playing a wind instrument. Pitched in C, the pBuzz has just six notes indicated by color, note name, solfege and numbered slide positions. pBuzz gives young children the chance to discover music and develop real wind instrument skills. Learning pBuzz checks off nearly every learning style - aural, visual, kinetic, tactile – and does it in a fun and social way.
pBuzz is a wind instrument. Unlike the recorder, it requires your students to use air like a real band instrument. With pBuzz, students learn how a sound is made and how to create tone and pitch. pBuzz shows how changing the length of the tube affects notes, and it's easy for students to learn together and play as a pBuzz ensemble and also with boomwhackers, Orff instruments and other elementary teaching tools.

“Almost all students are successful with making a buzz. They have learned the song Hot Cross Buns on pBuzz and Jaws on pBuzz. Some students can play it perfectly, but most are still working on getting the right pitches with their buzzes. I really want to get them actually reading music by the end of the year.
